Story
Once upon a time, there lived a blind biwa virtuoso Hōichi at the Amida Temple in Akamagaseki. One summer night when the priest was out, a warrior in armor came to visit, claiming that his master wanted to hear Hoichi's biwa. The blind Hoichi was taken by hand by a samurai to a magnificent mansion where the lord's family was staying. The audience, who appeared to be nobles, were moved to tears when Hoichi played the Tale of the Heike with his magnificent biwa, and the lord liked it so much that he asked him to come for six more nights in a row. And since this trip is a "secret" one, Hoichi is made to promise not to tell anyone about it...
